Milwaukee apartment fire; 3 rescued from balcony, extensive damage

A hearth broken an apartment constructing on Milwaukee’s north aspect early Friday morning, Feb. 21. It broke out shortly earlier than 4 a.m. on Lynx Avenue simply south of Bender Avenue.

What we all know:

When crews arrived on the scene, they discovered heavy fireplace situations on the second ground of the two-story, eight-family apartment constructing.

Among the residents have been making an attempt to self-rescue by leaping off a second ground balcony. In complete, three individuals have been rescued from the balcony. Officers say 20 individuals have been evacuated from the construction.

All sufferers have been evaluated by Milwaukee Fireplace Division paramedic models. Nobody was transported from the scene.

One canine was rescued. 

The Crimson Cross was known as for seven displaced occupants.

There may be extensive damage to the constructing and it’s inhabitable.

What’s subsequent:

Officers say the hearth was attributable to house heaters too near combustibles.
