Lanes closed on SR-4 SB due to trash truck fire

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — All southbound lanes of State Route 4 are blocked whereas crews put out a rubbish truck fire.

A trash truck fire was reported Thursday afternoon, with a number of fire engines responding to the scene on State Route 4 between I-70 and Chambersburg Street.

On scene, 2 NEWS noticed a Republic trash truck closely smoking as firefighters work to extinguish the fire.

2 NEWS spoke with officers on scene, who mentioned the driving force of the truck seen flames coming from the again, pulled over and referred to as 911. Nobody was injured.

Firefighters on scene consider the fire might have began with the motor on the trash compactor. The trigger stays underneath investigation.

Officers say they are going to be on scene for some time. all lanes of southbound OH-4 are shut down simply earlier than Chambersburg Street. Drivers are urged to keep away from the world.
