DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — After being deployed on Saturday to assist with restoration efforts in Kentucky, Ohio Task Force 1 is set to return home later this morning.
In accordance to a press launch, the group obtained demobilization orders on Thursday as rescue groups in Kentucky shift to stabilization efforts.
“It was a pleasure to serve our Kentucky neighbors alongside aspect such devoted groups,” a spokesperson for the group stated within the launch.
Throughout their service in Kentucky, Ohio Task Force 1 helped in a variety of methods.
This work included:
- Conducting search and rescue in Martin and Floyd counties.
- Visiting communities inhibited due to flooding.
- Aiding with evacuations.
The 47-person group is set to return at 11 a.m.
